Glennville, GA to Statesboro,GA - 47 miles

Sunny and hot today!  47.2 miles; riding time was 3 hours and 43 minutes; max 23 MPH and average was 12.6 MPH.  No reason to rush - it was too hot to push it, and the rooms wouldn't be ready for an early check in.  No reason to be riding it like I stole it

I got up early, sat outside to catch a breath of fresh air then I walked a few blocks to the Mac Donald's and bought 4 coffees - not all for me. Coffee for Mary, Donna, Fran, and me. Some rooms did have coffee makers but not ours.

Breakfast outside - oatmeal.

SAG stops at 15 and 30 miles.  Filled the water bottles and a few snacks (hard boiled egg and a cheese stick)

Lunch - peanut butter sandwich, I need to start mixing it up a little.

The roads today- mix of 2 lane highways and 2 lane county roads. Rumble strips and rough chip and seal pavement. Plenty of semis and pickup trucks with huge tires and no mufflers - quite dreamy!

Also a few loose dogs on the road.  I've been taken down by a dog, not fun.

I have a latte(s) in my future.  Dunkin is adjacent to our hotel and the Marilyn forwarded me a coupon for a free one.

Oh yah!

Dinner - ribs, beans, coleslaw, brussel   sprouts, corn on the cob, and brownies for dessert.

Dinner cleanup -

Lorna working on the pots and pans

Dishwashers - clockwise Karen, Sue, Liz and Joyce.  Karen joined us for dinner and stayed to help with dishes, she did the southern tier trip with some of the gals on this trip.

After dinner conversation- Mary and Helen

Tomorrow - a day off in Statesboro, GA.

And the laudromat is a short walk away, clean clothes, it doesn't get any better than that!

We get to do it again tomorrow

Ever bike? Now that's something that makes life worth living!...Oh, to just grip your handlebars and lay down to it, and go ripping and tearing through streets and road, over railroad tracks and bridges, threading crowds, avoiding collisions, at twenty miles or more an hour, and wondering all the time when you're going to smash up. Well, now, that's something! And then go home again after three hours of it...and then to think that tomorrow I can do it all over again! ~ Jack London, Author

Our tomorrow is 47 miles and 4+ hours.

Blackshear, GA to Glennville, GA - 64 miles

For the first 10 miles we rode on a 4 lane highway. The shoulder was rumble strips.  Then onto a 2 lane state road. We finished riding on a busy 2 lane highway.
