The stats:
64 miles; 5 hours 6 minutes and 37 seconds - riding time. We started out at 7:45 and arrived at hotel 2:15. Maximum speed 20.3 (tailwind and downhill); average speed 12.4
Beautiful sunrise
Our hotel on the beach - our rooms didn't face the beach!
Breakfast - oatmeal, cream of wheat, assorted donuts (no donuts for me).

We had SAG stops at 15, 30, and 45 miles today. Nice to be able to refill water bottles often - sunny and hot, bike computer showed 98 degrees.
Mile 26 - blew a tube, I thought it was the tire from the sound of it - BANG
My riding companions, Suzanne and Lorna, stopped immediately upon hearing the noise. It blew the tire off one side of the rim.
How many women does it take to change a tube?
Lorna held the bike, I got the old tube out and new tube in and Suzanne got the tire back onto the rim. Many thanks to the two of them.
The tube had a 2-3 inch slash. The tire was fine, bad tube!
We made it to the second SAG stop and I bought a spare tube. I had extras in my luggage but wanted one on the bike with me.

Lunch - peanut butter, potato chips and cheese sticks. The salty stuff hit the spot!
Time for cocktails around the van and line dancing lessons before dinner!
Dinner - salmon, chicken, mixed vegetables, cooked spinach
90% chance of rain tonight, hope it clears for tomorrow's 67 mile ride.

I can't believe you are biking that distance in that kind of heat. Women can do anything, just ask my girls.
